“ We had the udon, sukiyaki hotpot, and chirashi bowl. The udon was amazing, great soup base and chewy udon. Sukiyaki was absolutely filled with food, but would’ve liked to see more variety of veggies in it. The chirashi bowl, while good, is more of a sashimi bowl. All up not a bad Japanese restaurant, though slightly on the more expensive side than your normal super-casual Japanese restaurant. ”

“ Let's face it. The food and atmosphere of this place might not be the best in the world but for some reasons, it is one of my favorite places to go in the cbd. I like the simplicity of it and how my every dining experience here is a breeze. The ambiance is warm and welcoming. The food is nothing pretentious but homey and straight to the point. The manager is one-man-army everything in the front house so when it gets busy, there will be some delay for the food. Nonetheless, ideal place for a warming dinner, especially for patrons of the theatre next door. ”

“ I think it’s broadly pretty average here. The miso soup was quite good. My bento box was just ok I thought and ultimately just a bit too small for the price. The ingredients were ok and interesting, but it’s probably one of the more ordinary bentos I’ve had. It needed a bit more substance to be a half decent meal. Continuing the theme, the place is pretty ordinary inside and there’s nothing much to inspire. The lady serving here is a machine. She was doing the whole place on her own and running between tables and the kitchen. It was mighty impressive. Hardest working server since the woman I saw at Port Bou railway station who appeared to have six arms working at once ”
